Life Builders has truly been the garden of my spiritual growth. My husband and I were among the first members of the church and it has been the foundation of our salvation. When we first joined, we were a married couple but no more united than beyond our physical belongings. We had been in counseling for 2 years, but it wasn't until God led us to Life Builders that He was able to actually 'marry' us and impart sound and spiritual knowledge of what commitment and union really meant. God miraculously used Pastor Jimmy and First Lady Tiffany as not only an excellent example of a Christian marriage, but also vessels of teachings and wisdom that is far beyond their young years. He's used our church family to show us that agape love is not just a biblical term, but a love that's applicable to our lives, even when you feel people have failed you most. My husband and I often sit in wonder at how our relationship has changed so dramatically in the few years after joining Life Builders. I personally am in awe at how the Holy Spirit has allowed me to forgive and God, in His faithfulness, has even allowed some things to be forgotten. One thing we are both certain of, is we were afforded a new love, with new hope and a new life. We are now what we belong to - Life Builders; a church where God and His Love have full and complete reign!

Joining Life Builders Christian Center has truly changed my life. I had many struggles and strongholds, which negatively effected me. I struggled with much insecurity as a man, which caused destructive and sinful behavior. As a father and husband my destructive behavior nearly tore my marriage and family apart. Growing up in a dysfunctional family made matters worse. I viewed myself as a complete failure. My outlook on life was extremely negative.

Since joining Life Builders, God has not only saved my soul, but He saved my life and I have truly been blessed. I now realize that God is able to change any situation! What seemed impossible to me was simple to God once I truly accepted him into my heart. My marriage has been miraculously restored and I have overcome many strongholds that hindered me in the past. I am also a part of the music ministry, which has help me transition from Hip Hop, and R&B to gospel music.

Life Builders has become my new family. Pastor James Izzard is a true man of God. God has gifted him with the ability to simplify the word. I learn something new from every sermon and lesson he teaches. I have grown spiritually and learned so much while studying Gods word. Pastor Izzard is full of compassion, patience, and love for each member. He preaches the unadulterated word of God, which has caused a positive change in my life. He is not just my pastor; he’s also my best friend. Our first lady Tiffany Izzard has also been a blessing to my wife and me. She is a mighty woman of God, who genuinely cares for the congregation and winning souls for Christ. Starting a new church is not an easy task. I thank God for James & Tiffany Izzard’s vision. I'm happy and truly blessed to be a part of that vision. WE SERVE AN AWESOME GOD.

"It's amazing how God uses people to draw you to Him. My story begins at on my job where I work with a nurse whose inner beauty and life style was and still is an inspiration to me. She and her four kids would go to church every Sunday. After church, she went back to work after getting only five hours of sleep. After about three weeks of watching, working and learning about her, while going through my own life issues, I wondered how she is surviving. It amazed me to see how joyous she was after sharing with me some of the same issues I was going through. I remember saying, I want that joy and happiness she has. I knew about Jesus but didn't have a personal relationship with Him. After watching her, I felt ashamed and convicted. How could I treat God like that after all He's done for me? How could I not sacrifice two hours of my week for Him?

So, I decided, one morning after working 12 hours throughout the night, that I would go to church. Now mind you, every morning when I got off work, I could barely make it home because I would be so sleepy. But, this one morning by the Grace of God and His heavenly angels, I made it to Upper Marlboro, MD from NW Washington, DC. Still to this day, I can't remember how I got there; I know it was the Holy Spirit leading me. When I walked into church, I immediately went to the altar and fell on my face in worship. That day I rededicated my life to Christ. It's a honor and privilege to be a part of a "chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a Holy nation"..... and give praise and honor to the one who called ME out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 1:9"
